Form/Alkaline critiques

We've finished a remix for Thine Eyes which should appear on the next release from Doppler Effect Records. We've also submitted unreleased songs for 4 compilations: one on COP International; one on Catastrophe Records (for "The Glory of Destruction 2" as our side-project Form/Alkaline); a remix of an unknown artists' song (seriously.. we don't know whose material we used) for the "Shox 2" comp on 21st Circuitry; and an early song (unreleased since 1992) for the debut release of Invein Records: the "Operational" compilation.

Our cover of The Nails' 80's hit "88 Lines About 44 Women" will appear on the "Newer Wave 2" compilation CD, to be released by 21st Circuitry Records in late 1998. Our version is kinda dark trip-hop, and features vocals by Julian Tulip.

Wanna see my super-cool SIGNED Curve CD ? I got it when they played San Francisco on their 98 tour for "Come Clean".

Our remix CD "Rebuild" will be out in May!! (promo copies out in April). Features 4 new songs, a live version of "Choking on Fate" from one of our shows in Seattle, and remixes by Download, Cleen (Haujobb side project), Railgun, Nerve Filter, New Mind, SMP, Tensor, Necrofix, and our remix of a song by 3D House of Beef.

While Phil is at work creating dark soundscapes for the Form/Alkaline side-project and for the next Scar Tissue releases, Steve is engaged in a frenzy of DAT trading with other artists. We are collecting remixes of Scar Tissue material for a CD-EP of remixes, unreleased tracks, and live shit, tentatively scheduled for an April '98 release. Look for the 3rd full-length Scar Tissue CD to be out sometime around August '98.

Scar Tissue is recording material for a new side project called "Form/Alkaline" which is still just Steve and Phil, but is more dark ambient or tribal noise music than the aggressive Scar Tissue stuff. Think of songs like "Gravity" and "Switch" off of the TMOTD CD and you'll get the idea of what Form/Alkaline will be like. The first 2 songs will appear on 2 CD compilations: one will be on The Glory of Destruction put out by Catastrophe Records. The other release will be the Cyberbabies double CD compilation.

Steve played an improvised tribal / noise set in Seattle with Nial and Phil (guitarist & drummer, respectively) of grindcore-death-chunk band 3D House of Beef, and that has led to another attempt at a side project. The new project is as-yet-unnamed, but will be based on percussion foundations laid by the 2 drummers. Who knows what will go on top of that.

Scar Tissue has added a DJ to their live set-up, at least for West coast shows. His name is Tao (pronounced "dow") and he's from Santa Cruz, CA. He adds scratching, noise, effects, and some beats behind the live mix. And he has a heavy gold statue of the Virgin Mary, so watch out.
